Only Hell
Artist statement: I like to explore my thoughts and feelings about the world, both in the moment (through micro poetry) and after research and reflection (digital art pieces and contemplative poetry). In my digital art I like to layer and combine separate images, editing them together to create a cohesive piece; as I have done for my piece Only Hell. Only Hell represents the way in which humans treat each other based upon conscious and unconscious biases. Caging each other up (both physically and socially) and inciting hatred or violence against one another — my definition of Hell.

Image description: an illustration of a red-haired woman hanging from a vine of pink flowers. The woman wears a sheer green dress, green ballet flats and orange tights. The background is purple and there is a statue in the left bottom corner that is lit in a faint purple glow. The woman swings in front of a stone wall with diamond shapes in the design and has her eyes closed as a soft beam of light illuminates her.
