There are three rectangular images in the centre: one with a grey background and figure wearing red eye make-up and a green robe surrounded by black ink swirls with black text reading ‘The Rise of Kyoshi F.C. Yee’ at the bottom and ‘Avatar’ in white at the top, one that is grey with darker grey and white floral designs in the lower half and khaki text reading ‘Hannah Kent’ at the top and yellow text reading ‘Devotion’ halfway down the image, and the final one shows a red woman with a pink background and white text reading ‘Sex Ed’ taking up most of the image, red text in the top right corner reading ‘Ruby Rare’ and yellow text at the bottom reading ‘A Guide for Adults’.

Nostalgia but make it more adult by Jasmyne Tzitziras

This month I read the novel Rise of Kyoshi by F.C. Yee and Michael Dante DiMartino. If you enjoyed ATLA or LOF and want something a little more grown up then I highly recommend this book as it has all the whimsy of the Avatar world while exploring more adult themes and relationships. I would also recommend this book if you want to read something that features a Sapphic relationship.

Otherworldly by Jordyn Presley

Devotion by Hannah Kent is a beautiful and heartbreaking tale of love and friendship. Her description of land, sea and characters are otherworldly in this story I won’t soon forget. Any fan of her work will not be disappointed.

Inclusive and empowering by Nyalat Pel Kun

My top pick for this month is Sex ED: A Guide for Adults by the incredible sex educator and fashion icon Ruby Rare. I found that the book was approachable, inclusive, fun and informative. I listened to the audiobook on BorrowBox on my commute to and from dance classes.
